Lemonade Lashes

As someone who wears minimal makeup with a strong affinity for natural beauty, I was never satisfied with the extensions I was getting. It was often over-the-top and unsuitable for my natural lashes and lifestyle. The standard thick bold lashes which covered the eyes and the heavy extensions that caused premature lash shedding, is all that seemed to be available. That is where the inspiration for Lemonade Lashes was born.

Common Questions

How can I book an appointment?

Visit the booking section of this website. Select your preferred day and time and submit your request. You will be notified within 24 hours (Monday to Friday) whether the time is available, and what the next steps are.

How long does it take?

At Lemonade Lashes, quality is never compromised. We don’t apply extensions to only half of your natural lashes. We strive to apply extensions to every natural lash to achieve the most beautiful results.

For our volume fans we don’t use pre-manufactured fanned extensions. We handcraft each fan to ensure perfect attachment at the base, good retention, and a comfortable feel.

A full set of extensions can range from 1.5 hours for Classic to 3 hours for Volume. So come ready to relax.

How long do they last?

An eyelash extension will stay bonded to your natural lashes until the end of its normal growth cycle. However, like the hair on your scalp, every natural lash has different growth and shedding cycles and they continuously fall out and grow back. Because of the irregularity of this growth cycle, our clients come in for a touch-up every 2 -3 weeks. Outgrown lashes are removed and fresh lashes applied.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Be prepared to remain still with your eyes closed for the duration of the appointment. This may last for a few hours depending upon the service.

Before your arrive, remove makeup, oil and skincare from the eye area. Eyeliner, eye shadow and foundation should be thoroughly cleaned. Do this by first using eye-makeup remover then double cleanse with our specially formulated Lash Care foaming cleanser.

If you wear contact lenses, please remove them at your appointment and make sure to bring a contact lens case.

Avoid caffeine for at least 3 hours before your appointment to help avoid twitching. You can bring your own earphones and listen to your own playlist, favorite podcast, and audiobooks.

What products do you use?

Using only premium quality products on the market, we have sourced the softest and most durable PBT material. The extensions are made from safe and sterilised fibres. The material is highly resistant to wear and has a natural elasticity, which will prolong your extensions. The lashes have a semi-matte finish and have a deep taper, giving it the ultimate in softness and realistic finish while still giving you the added curl and definition.

Can I book a fill if I have extensions from another salon?

At Lemonade Lashes we take pride in the overall quality of results that we offer. For this reason, we don’t provide fill services for lashes that have been applied at other studios.

This also ensures that if there are any issues, that we can guarantee the quality of our work.

Aftercare Questions

How do I care for my extensions?

It usually takes 24 hours for the adhesive to dry thoroughly and yield a strong bond. During this time, the adhesive bond is vulnerable to moisture, steam and excessive heat. Clients should be careful with the following activities: showering, friction from rubbing, playing with the extensions, sleeping on the side or flat on the stomach. Avoid use of oil-based products on or near the extensions.

When is the ideal time to get fills?

Our clients return every 2 to 3 weeks for a touch-up. This is the ideal timeframe so that the outgrown extensions can be carefully removed (to ensure the health of your natural lashes) and new extensions can be applied to ensure fullness and symmetry.

Can I wear mascara or stick-on lashes?

It is unneccessary and not reccomended to use mascara or stick-on lashes (also known as strip lashes) with extensions. Mascara will change the appearance of the extensions and can harbour bacteria as it is extremely difficult to remove all of the residue. This includes the glue used for stick-on lashes. It’s tackiness can catch on the base of the extension exposing the natural lashes to unecesssary tension and tugging which can cause premature lash shedding.

Can I use an eyelash curler?

We do not reccomend the use of eyelash curlers. Eyelash curlers can cause significant damage to the natural lash. You risk bending the extension and detaching the adhesive bond causing discomfort or even worse, bald spots. This can happen when the eyelash curler pulls the natural lashes from the root shaft.

If you would like curlier extensions, we would be happy to discuss increasing the type of curl used at your next appointment.

Can I go swimming?

You can go swimming after 24 hours of application. Afterwards, blot (don’t rub!) lashes dry with a soft washcloth. Then brush with a clean mascara wand to finish.
